The Planning Process

After securing our travel agent, Alana, we set up a meeting to discuss our goals and we built our trip from there.  Our biggest concern was, " Do we have enough time to get everything in place for this upcoming trip which we wanted to start October 1 .” We were assured by our travel agent that we had plenty of time as long as we kept going. The process of organizing this trip evolved as we made plans, changed our plans, planned again, and so forth. We watched so many YouTube videos to get some basic ideas where we would like to explore and shared some of our thoughts with our travel agent. We then went on our merry way of watching more videos and talking to more people who travelled in the neck of the woods we were planning to travel – Southeast Asia. Everyone we talked to had such unique experiences, and we became very aware that our experiences were going to be just as unique. How It All Began!

  In May this year (2024), we moved from Vancouver Island to the Salmon Arm Campground in the province of British Columbia, Canada and very soon after this move, we decided we wanted to do something different during the upcoming winter months.  Once we decided that we were going to launch this new journey, it was almost mind-boggling as to where to start. After mulling over our idea we thought ... you can’t move forward if you don’t get started … so, we connected with friends who traveled throughout the world to get some ideas of where we may want to go.  At first, we thought we would explore Europe and then over to Southeast Asia; however, we soon realized that we should just focus on one area and do it well … so we chose Southeast Asia. We chose this part of the world because we would be traveling from October to April (yes, 7 glorious months) and the weather would be warmer in that part of the world during that time.
